Bangkok Venice of the East

Bangkok has come a long way from the small village which bore its name in the 15th century. As it was located on the mouth of the Chao Phraya River, the area soon grew in importance and even became the site of a famous siege in 1688 when Siam expelled the French. Bangkok was made Thailand’s capital in 1782 and has expanded in size ever since. Water is at the heart of the city with the canals deemed to be as important as the streets. This is why Bangkok has gained the sobriquet: ‘Venice of the East’.

Perhaps it is no surprise to learn that the Praya Palazzo boutique hotels Bangkok also has a distinct Italian influence just like the capital. The hotel is actually a mansion that was first built in 1923. Praya Chollabhumipanish was a member of King Rama V’s court and he was greatly influenced by contemporary Italian art. The mansion was specially built on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. This is great news for our guests who stay within easy walking distance of Bangkok’s jewel. (more…)

The Power of the Bangkok Economy

As Thailand’s capital, Bangkok also has its most powerful economy. In fact, the city’s economic output is estimated at more than 35% of Thailand’s entire GDP. There is some confusion over this figure but the estimate stems from the fact that Bangkok accounts for 75% of Thailand’s service sector which in itself is responsible for 45% of the nation’s GD

Cultural Attractions in Bangkok

Cultural attractions in Bangkok  although Bangkok is known as one of the party capitals of the world, the cultural attractions on offer are a match for any other city in the world. A prime example of this is the Ancient City in Samut Prakan which is an extraordinary creation located on the outskirts of the city. The Ancient City is contained within 320 acres of landscaped gardens and contains scaled down replicas of Thailand’s most important structures. There are more than 100 monuments within the Ancient City with some depicting buildings that no longer exist. This homage to Thai architecture and history is one of the most remarkable projects ever carried out in the country and must be visited by tourists. Read more

Authentic Thai Cuisine

When you visit Bangkok, you are duty bound to sample the local cuisine. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you’ve had Thai food before. The food you eat back home is just a ‘Westernized’ version that does not contain all of the authentic spices and flavor or real Thai cuisine. The Bangkok marketplace has an array of local dishes but if you wish to dine in style, try the Praya Palazzo boutique hotel Bangkok ‘s menu.
Spicy Shrimp Soup of the most famous of all Thai dishes is Tom Yum Goong, otherwise known as spicy shrimp soup. It is a cavalcade of flavor with fragrant herbs and spices such as lemon grass, chili pepper, shallot and tamarind added to fresh prawns and mushrooms. The overall impact on your taste buds is nothing short of sensational. It is generally used as a starter but with the addition of rice, you have yourself a worthy main course. Live Out Your Dreams At The Praya Palazzo

Some of the visitors to the Praya Palazzo boutique hotel Bangkok have had to be shaken once they have viewed what’s on offer. This is because they can’t quite believe their eyes. They thought they had booked a hotel when in actual fact, the Praya Palazzo boutique hotel Bangkok  resembles a palace. To be precise, the hotel is a refurbished mansion that was originally built in 1923. It underwent a host of changes before we transformed it into the magnificent work of art you see today in 2009.

Our guests commonly express their admiration for the hotel and explain how they have seen similar buildings which belong to Hollywood’s elite. Their whole vacation seems like a dream because they are living like those whom they idolize on television. Never in a million years could they ever imagine emulating their multi-millionaire icons.

Yet once you set foot in the Praya Palazzo boutique hotel Bangkok, this is exactly what you are doing. The hotel only has 17 rooms which means you are among an exclusive group. You’ll notice an abundance of staff just waiting for your next request. Whether you want the most decadent meals or exotic cocktails, our staff will serve them to you while you relax in our private swimming pool which overlooks the Chao Phraya river. Despite the fact that you’re so close to the city of Bangkok, you will feel like this is your own private island.
